Warrior wrestlers bring home the hardware

By listening closely, one could hear the Song of the Dying Beastñ despite losses to Omaha Skutt and Perry, the Warrior wrestling team claimed the 2A title by barbarically bludgeoning Osseo-Fairchild, Rochester Mayo, Windom, and Iowa City High at the Clash Tournament in Rochester on January 3-4. Snarling and braying, its nostrils flaring, its claws swiping recklessly, the beast made its final stand, only to be put down by an inexorable Warrior squad.

Kasey Meiners, Mitch Lange, and Kevan Meinersñ now known collectively as The Firmñ posted a combined 12 wins, the impetus behind the Warriorsí march to the title. Lange was awarded All-Tournament honors, a salute to his powerful primordial prowess.

ìWe wrestled tremendously well,î said Coach Jay Tolleson. ìEvery match somebody stepped up and would have a big win. We did a lot of growing this weekend as a team and as individuals; we gained a tremendous amount of experience. This is going to do a lot for us going into tournament time in February.î
