Posted: 7/10/03 Almon JacobsonAlmon Jacobson, 80, of Caledonia, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at his home. He was born February 18, 1923 in Caledonia township to Oscar and Ingaborg (Halverson) Jacobson. Almon served in the United States Army from October of 1946 until February of 1948. On September 10, 1949 he married Mabel Feil at the Spring Grove Lutheran Church Parsonage. Almon worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hector Construction in Caledonia for many years. He then worked for Roverud Construction. Almon was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia. He also was a member of the VFW Houston County Post 3833 in Caledonia. Survivors include his wife Mabel; two daughters, Brenda (Tom) Olinger and Marie (Pete) Congdon; two sons, Robert (Barb) Jacobson and Elton (Priscilla) Jacobson, all of Caledonia; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Burmester of Caledonia. Almon was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Esther Ostern. Services will be Saturday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia with Rev. Rolf T. Storlie officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
