Man charged with disorderly conductPosted: 7/15/03 by Andrew Miller A Houston man has been charged in connection with a July 13 incident in which he allegedly yelled obscenity after obscenity at a county deputy. Chad Erlandson, 22, is charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process. The complaint filed in Houston County district Court states that just after midnight on July 13, Houston County Deputy Tracie Erickson was fueling his squad car at the Texaco Gas Station in Houston when Erlandson, an open beer can in each hand and a closed beer can under his arm, approached him and began mumbling and swearing repeatedly. Deputy Erickson advised Erlandson to stop swearing or heíd be placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Erlandson indicated he lived in an apartment nearby, and was told by Deputy Erickson to return home. A short time later, Deputy Erickson witnessed Erlandson standing at the top of the stairway leading to his apartment, again yelling obscenities at him. Erlandson descended the stairs and walked toward a car that had pulled up, and while apparently conversing with occupants of the car, continued to yell obscenities toward Deputy Erickson, who again advised Erlandson to stop swearing and return home. Erlandson refused, at which point Deputy Erickson drove towards him, prompting Erlandson to run towards his apartment. After Erlandson was told he was under arrest for disorderly conduct, he pushed Deputy Erickson in the chest. After being handcuffed, Erlandson physically resisted the arrest, spit at the deputy and continued to yell obscenities. Erlandson was transported to the Houston County Jail, where he tested .17 on a portable breath test measuring blood-alcohol concentration. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
