Posted: 7/1/03 Diane (Burmester) CarrDianne Marie (Burmester) Carr, 50, of Diorite Location, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Marquette General Hospital following a battle with cancer. Dianne was born on June 15, 1953 in Caledonia. She is the daughter of Charlotte Burmester of Caledonia and the late Harold Burmester. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Eitzen. Dianne gew up on Cabbage Ridge Farm and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1971. She attended Winona Technical School, where she studied accounting and business. She worked at the Murray Hotel on Mackinac Island, where she met her husband of 29 years, James. She was a tax accountant at H & R Block in Marquette for 10 years, and worked at the Ely Township hall for the last seven years. Dianne enjoyed spending time at her familyís cabin on Lake Ruth. She will be remembered as a kind and patient person, unceasingly devoted to her family and friends. Dianne is survived by her husband, James of Diorite Loc.; her children, Aaron Carr of Diorite Loc., Dillon Carr of London, Ont., and Cassidy Carr of Diorite Loc.; her mother, Charlotte Burmester of Caledonia; two sisters, Jane (Dan) Cerney of New Brighton, and Mary Lou (Allan) Ross of St. Joseph, MO; two brothers, Wayne Burmester of Madison, WI and good friend, Cindy, and Robert (Angie) Burmester of Mabel; and many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father Harold Burmester and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Ella (Cordes) Burmester and maternal grandparents Charles and Luella (Pieper) Schauble. Services were held Saturday, June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Bjork & Zhulkie with Rev. Nancy Amacher officiating.
