Charges brought against Caledonia man after fight

Jimmy Denstad, 51, Caledonia, was charged with fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct after a fight Saturday evening inside Sonny and Bevís Bar on East Main Street.
Caledonia Police were dispatched to Sonny and Bevís just before 6:30 p.m. after receiving word of an altercation. Denstad, observed by police as ěextremely intoxicated,î was interviewed outside the bar and, after he had unsuccessfully tried to ride away on a bicycle, was arrested and transported to Zumbro Valley Detox in Rochester.
According to statements taken from witnesses by Caledonia Police, Denstad had approached a 51-year old Caledonia man, grabbed him around the head and neck, hit him in the mouth, and pulled him off his bar stool. Another bar patron pulled Denstad off the victim. The victim indicated that his two front teeth were knocked loose in the incident.
