Daily pool rates for city, rural kids will be the same

Posted: 6/17/03

The city council has agreed to charge rural and city children the same daily rate at the Caledonia Pool. There will continue to be a higher rate charged for rural residents for season passes and swimming lessons.

At the June 9 meeting of the city council, Councilman John Klug said that he believes that rural children who go to the pool are put on the spot when going to the pool for the day when they have to pay a higher rate than the children in town. He made a motion that all daily rates be the same. The motion passed with Mayor Robert Burns voting in the negative.

Daily charges at the pool are now $2.50.
