Brownsville Days this Saturday and SundayPosted: 6/24/03 If itís food, fun, and a festive atmosphere youíre after, look no further than the Brownsville Days celebration this weekend. Hosted by the Brownsville Lions, the event kicks off this Saturday with a softball tournament at 11 a.m. A dance will be held at the ball park at 8 p.m., and will feature the music of rock-and-roll outfit Saddle Tramp. Saturday night will also feature a raffle, with a grand prize of $1000. Tickets are $20, and can be obtained by contacting any member of the Brownsville Lions between now and the drawing. An ecumenical church service is scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Brownsville Community Center, followed at 11 a.m. by co-ed softball at the ball park and a chicken-q sponsored by the Hokah Lions Club in the community center. A parade will get underway at 1 p.m. Sunday, starting on the west end of town. A horseshoe tournament will be held at 2:30.
