Man arrested for driving drunkPosted: 6/24/03 by Andrew Miller Charges are pending against a 30-year old Caledonia man who allegedly attempted to run another motorist off the road. The Houston County Sheriffís Office received a call the afternoon of June 21 of a subject driving erratically. A motorist reported that while driving on County Rd. 5, a vehicle tried to pass him on the left, and in doing so, nearly collided with him. The subject also veered toward some bicyclists in the course of the incident. Moments later, Caledonia Police initiated a traffic stop at East Washington Street and South Winnebago Street and placed the subject under arrest. The arresting officer noted an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and a test administered at the Sheriffís Office revealed that the man had a blood-alcohol concentration of .21.
