Gerhard Pieper

Gerhard T. Pieper, 85, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Franciscan-Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse. Gerhard was born March 3, 1918 in Wilmington township, Houston County, Minnesota, to Otto and Levi (Roble) Pieper. On May 12, 1942, he married Rose Neumann in Crooked Creek township, Minnesota and she preceded him in death on April 23 of this year. Gerhard worked in windmill and well repair for farmers for many years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia. Gerhard enjoyed fishing, reading, and working on word puzzles.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruby (Leland) Karels of Blaine, Joann (Larry) Bjergum, Caledonia, and Nancy Pieper, La Crescent; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Klein, La Crescent; two brothers, Telmer (Fern) Pieper, Caledonia, and Donald (Carol) Pieper, La Crosse; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Gerhard was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be Friday, June 6, 2 p.m. from St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia with Rev. Jon Wolff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
