Rice Pharmacy is sold to Witts

Rice Pharmacy, which operated in Caledonia for 43 years, has been sold to Tom and Vicky Witt.

Don Rice, R Ph, worked at the former Abbottís Drug Store and took over the business on April 1, 1960, renaming it Rice Pharmacy. He ran the business until his death in November of 2000. Since then, Jan Tilleraas, R Ph, has been the pharmacist in charge while the business stayed in the Rice family. Donís widow, Colene, and daughter, Karen Rice Hagerott, announced the sale of the business to the Witts on Monday.

The Witts also own drug stores in Rushford, Houston and Spring Grove.
