Woman sentenced for theft from New Caledonia Ford

The woman who pled guilty to stealing money from New Caledonia Ford has been sentenced to six months in jail and ordered to pay a $2500 fine.

Elsie Halverson was sentenced on February 19 after pleading guilty to three counts of theft by false representation on December 12. The charges stemmed from a series of incidents occurring between November 2000 and August 2001, during which time Halverson, the car dealershipís bookkeeper, issued 14 unauthorized checks totalling over $67,000.

Restitution to New Caledonia Ford has already been made.
