The shipís home port is Everett, Washington. Dr. Hammellís six-month deployment began in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch in July of 2002. As the battle group neared completion of its deployment in December of 2002, the USS Abraham Lincoln Battle Group was recalled to duty in the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. A 1993 graduate of Caledonia High School, Dr. Hammell is a 1997 graduate of Loras College and a 2001 graduate of the Des Moines University Medical School. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
