Dale Witt

Dale F. Witt, 92 of Hokah, MN died on Monday, April 28, 2003 at the La Crescent Health Care Center, La Crescent, MN. He was born on January 21, 1911 in a log cabin in rural Caledonia, MN to Frank H. and Mary (Bauer) Witt. He married Lois G. Nimocks on June 18, 1932 in Winona, MN. She died on June 14, 1999. Dale had farmed on Peacock Ridge and Yucatan Valley until retiring and moving to Hokah in 1972. Following his retirement from farming he worked at CBS Homes of La Crescent as well as the Dresbach Information Center.

Dale is survived by two daughters, Jann Deen (Jack) Welch, La Crescent and Jill F. Witt, Hokah; two sons, Lynn A. (Mary), Onalaska, WI and Frank J. (Theresa) Witt, Apple Valley; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two step-great grandsons; a sister, Lois Klug, Caledonia; and two sisters-in-law, Sara Jane Thrune and Lois Nimocks, both of La Crosse.

In addition to his wife, Lois, his sister, Mildred Klug preceded him in death.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, at the Community Church of Hokah in Hokah. The Rev. David A. Possing officiated. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Hokah. Friends called at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent was in charge of arrangements.
