Father and son charged with sexual assaultPosted: 5/6/03 by Andrew Miller A father and son have been charged with a total of 16 counts of criminal sexual conduct relating to incidents with two juvenile females in Houston County between 2002 and March 2003. Clarence Frye, 48, Houston, faces a maximum penalty of 340 years in jail and/or fines of $470,000 if convicted of all 13 charges he faces, which include nine counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of second degree sexual conduct, and two counts of fourth degree conduct. Jonathon Frye, 25, Houston, faces a maximum of 90 years in jail and/or fines of $120,000 if convicted of all three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct that he is charged with. The charges were brought following an investigation begun in March by Houston Chief of Police David Breault. After receiving a report that the two juvenile females were being sexually abused, an interview was set up with the two girls through Houston County Human Services on March 9. The girls initially denied the allegations, but at another interview with a Houston County social worker on April 29, one girl indicated that Clarence Frye had touched her inappropriately on two occasions at his home in Houston. The second girl indicated that Clarence Frye had sexually assaulted her in his home on four occasions, and that Jonathon Frye had sexually assaulted her on two occasions. Both men were arrested April 29 and booked into the Houston County Jail. They were released after posting bail on May 1, and the conditions of their release state that they are prohibited from contact with any person under 18 years of age and that they cannot live in their Houston homes. Their next court appearance has been scheduled for May 14 at 9 a.m. before Judge James Fabian. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
