Olga Ellingson

Olga Dina Ellingson, 105, of Spring Grove, died Thursday, November 13, 2003, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.

She was born April 9, 1898, in rural Spring Grove to Olaus and Nellie (Ostby) Sanness and was a lifelong Spring Grove area resident. She attended agricultural school in Minneapolis. She was an excellent seamstress. On March 27, 1926 she married Alvin Ellingson at the parsonage in Caledonia. He preceded her in death in 1972. Olga and Alvin farmed in Houston County. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, and its womenís groups; she was also an honorary member of the Sons of Norway, and the Tweeten Hospital Auxiliary, both in Spring Grove.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Alvin, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Julia Burtness, Minnie Solie, Ruth Hanson and Stella Ellingson, and four brothers, Oscar, Arnold, Ole and Selmer.

Services are Monday, November 17, at 1:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with Pastor Robert Stoskopf officiating. Burial is in the Trinity Church Cemetery. Friends called Sunday from 1-3 pm at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
