Sandra Foote

Sandra M. Foote, 60, died peacefully in her home on Monday, November 10. She was born in Conway, New Hampshire on January 27, 1943, and lived in both Lovell and Fryeburg, Maine, until she moved to Vermont in 1954.
She attended Middlebury High School in Vermont and graduated in 1961. While attending MHS, she met and married Fletcher E. Foote of Middlebury in 1960 and went on to have four children. After divorcing Fletcher in the early 1990ís, Sandy experienced complications from diabetes and had to have her lower right leg amputated. Although disabled, she never let it slow her down, and she never thought of herself as limited.
Through a disability program, Sandy met her fiance Malcolm Jacobs (Jake) and found love and life again for a few short years. After Jakeís unexpected passing in November of 1999, she eventually moved to Caledonia to be by her children. She started work at Woodland Industries in 2002 and over time became affectionately known around town as ìThe lady on the scooter.î She was also well known and recognized for an article written about her and her special and unique crafting projects.

Sandy is survived by her mother Gertrude Gerry of Caledonia; two sisters, Donna Smith of New Haven, VT, and Charlene Henderson of Cutler, ME; one brother, Harry Gerry of Wallingford, VT; one son, Fletcher (Randy) Foote of Montgomery, MN; three daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Mashak of Hokah, Elizabeth (Betsy) Foote of Vergennes, VT, and Bonnie Bathalon of Caledonia; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations in Sandraís name can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maryís Catholic Church. McCormick funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
