Vehicle accidentally shot November 22

No one was injured Saturday, November 22, at 8:17 am when someone accidentally shot the window of a vehicle as it was parked by the south side of Co. Rd. 5, in a field. The person who shot the window was deer hunting, said the Houston County Sheriffís Office.

Robert Lee Falenczykowski, 54, of Minnetonka, MN. owns the truck but was not in it at the time of the accident.

One-vehicle accident

Peter Carl England, 34, of Houston sustained minor injuries when he was involved in a one vehicle accident on Saturday, November 22 at 3:28 pm. The accident occurred on State Hwy. 16 west of Hokah.

Houston County Sheriffís office, Hokah First Responders, Hokah Fire Department and Tri-State Ambulance responded.

No information was available on how the accident occurred.

Fewer car vs deer accidents

Three car versus deer accidents were reported last week, which is down from recent weeks.

Sharon Horihan, 38, of Spring Grove and Allen J. Smith, 48, of Holmen hit deer on November 21 and 22.

Horihan was on State Hwy. 44 between Spring Grove and the Skyline Supper Club, while Smith was on Co. Rd. 10, about two tenths of a mile north of Sheldon.

James Thomas Breuer, 17, of La Crescent hit two deer on Co. Rd. 6 on November 18.

Vandalism in two cities

A Spring Grove resident reported that someone had thrown a very large timber into his dog kennel located on First Avenue on Tuesday, November 18.

Sometime between Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23 damage was done in Eitzen on the north and south side of Pine and Portland Streets.
