Boy injured in tractor accident

Nine-year-old Andrew Fromm was to return home from the hospital on October 21 after being run over by a tractor.

The Houston County Sheriffís Office received a 911 call on Saturday, October 18 at 5:08 p.m. Fromm had fallen from the bucket of a tractor and was run over by the front wheel. His father, Steve, was driving the tractor at the time on Perkins Valley Road near Houston. They were returning from cutting down a tree.

Fromm was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center by Med Link helicopter and was treated for a broken left femur and received stitches to the back of his head. He suffered no internal injuries.

Five car versus deer accidents reported

The Houston County Sheriffís Office received five reports last week of car versus deer accidents.

Three occurred on Wednesday, October 15. The first two happened near La Crescent on Hwy. 16, while the third happened on County Road 20.

Two accidents occurred on Friday, October 17 the first near Houston on Hwy. 16 while the second occurred on Hwy. 76 near mile marker five.

Vehicle accidents reported

In two separate incidents vehicles were found in the ditch near Brownsville on Saturday, October 18.

In the first incident, the Brownsville Fire Chief reported that a vehicle had been found in a ditch two miles outside of Brownsville. There was no one in the vehicle at the time.

The second incident was reported at 12:59 a.m., and a citation was issued to the driver for inattentive driving.

Houston County answers 911 calls for Fillmore County

For over twelve hours on Thursday, October 16, Fillmore County had 911 calls forwarded to Houston County because of a problem with telephone lines located near Rochester.

911 call received from repossession agent

Four Houston County deputies responded to a residence on Marina Drive, in Brownsville on Sunday, October 19, after receiving a 911 call from a repossession agent whose partner was on the ground. According to the Houston County Sheriffís Office, the agents were in the process of trying to repossess a vehicle when one was reportedly struck in the head by the resident.

No charges have been filed in the case.

Hit and run reported

A Hokah resident reported a hit and run that occurred on Peterson Drive on Wednesday, October 15.
