Section will honor those who servedPosted: 10/21/03 On November 5, The Caledonia Argus will be publishing a special salute to our Veterans. Argus News Editor David Heiller will have stories on local veterans, including Glen Jostad, who was captured by the Germans in WWII, and Ron Levendoski, who is currently working on a second edition of a book on Veteransí stories. The Argus is also looking for stories on Veterans, and we encourage friends and relatives of veterans to submit a photograph and story (up to 500 words) describing the service career of the veteran. The cost per submission is $5 to help defray printing costs. We would like stories of all veterans, active, inactive, living or dead. An enamel patriotic lapel pin will be given to all who submit a story. Local businesses are also supporting the section with their advertisements. In addition to stories, we will again print the honor roll as inscribed on the Houston County Veteranís Memorial. Please remember Veteransí Day on November 11, and remember those who answered their countryís call, especially those who today are risking their lives as the war continues in Iraq. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
