Alvina Fruechte
Alvina B. Fruechte, 94, formerly of Eitzen, MN, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
AlvinaÝwas born March 2, 1910 in Union City Township, Allamakee County, Iowa, to Henry and Caroline (Koenig) Beneke. On October 4, 1933,Ýshe married Franklin G. Fruechte at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in EitzenÝand he preceded her in death on May 20, 1974. Alvina was an active member of St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in Eitzen. She enjoyed traveling to her sonsí homes for visits and she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Survivors include three sons, Curt (Jo), Prescott, AZ, Roger (Carolyn), Rochester Hills, MI, and Larry (Marti), Ballwin, MO; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Ashbacher, Caledonia, and Dorothy (Armin) Wuennecke, Cedar Rapids, IA; and a sister-in-law, Tillie Beneke, Waukon, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenneth,Ýtwo sisters, Lydia Weber, and Esther Hartley; and three brothers, Henry Beneke, and two in infancy.
Services will be Monday, August 16, at 11 a.m. from St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Lane Zaffke will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen, or the Franciscan-Skemp Hospice Program.
