Hokah Fun Daze events this weekend
Hokah will host its annual Fun Daze this Friday through Sunday, August 27-29.
Here is a breakdown of events, most of which are located at the city ball park:
FRIDAY: Food sales begin on Friday at 5 p.m., when the tent opens. The ragae musical group ìBad MoJoî plays from 6-8 p.m., followed by the La Crosse rock group ìHoochî from 8:30-12:30.
SATURDAY: The grounds open at 10 a.m. There are organized kids games from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with sawdust piles at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Barbecued chicken by the fire department starts at 11 a.m. The famous Hokah Fun Daze Tug of War starts at 12:30 p.m. (Registration starts at 11 a.m.)
A miniature golf tournament is at 3:30 p.m. at Twin Creek Golf Course, and a horseshoe tournament takes place at 4 p.m.
Todd the Live DJ will play music from 5-8 p.m. Then a reunion version of the band ìTown and Country Boysî will finish with live music from 8:30 p.m. - 1 a.m.
SUNDAY: There is a church service at 9 a.m. A motorcycle and classic car rally fun run will take place at noon starting at the fire station. This is a benefit for Houston County Womenís Resources in Hokah and Sunrise Recovery Home in Spring Grove. (See related story on page 10 for more on this event.)
Buttons are for the beer tent only for $4. There is no pre-sale of buttons.
