John J. Moinette
John J. Moinette, 87, of Reno, MN died Friday, July 30, 2004 at La Crescent Health Care Center, La Crescent, MN.
He was born July 10, 1917 in Atwater, OH, to Joseph and Mary (Maloney) Moinette. John served in the U.S. Army and then he worked at large and small companies over a long and diversified career. At one time he worked for Kraft Foods of Chicago and installed factories throughout the United States and the Philippines.
He married Louise Sundell August 21, 1970 in Metuchen, NJ.
John and Louise moved to the area in 1985 and in his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, comparing weather with his children across the country, and home remodeling. He was a member of St. Patrickís Catholic Church, Brownsville.
He is survived by his wife of Reno, eight children: Ronald (Sally) Moinette, Patricia Angel, Denise (Bruce) Kissack, Tim (Julie), Tom (Alice), Kathryn and Eric Moinette, and Renee (Steve) Commeree; three sisters: Grace Holland, Mary Weekly and Marge Zimmerman, all from the Akron, Ohio area, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, John E. Moinette, and five brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial wa held Monday, August 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrickís Catholic Church, Brownsville. Father Paul Breza officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends called from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, August 1 at St. Patrickís Church and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
Memorials may be given to St. Patrickís Catholic Church or the New Albin Fire and Ambulance Service.
McCormick Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
