Arthur Kruse
Arthur A. Kruse, 89, of Caledonia, MN, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at the Caledonia Care and Rehab. He was born November 25, 1914 on his home farm in Wilmington township, Houston County, Minnesota, to Herman and Lydia (Burmester) Kruse. Arthur was baptized December 13, 1914 and confirmed April 1, 1928 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Eitzen, MN. He attended rural schools. On October 7, 1936, Art married Alma Tewes at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Eitzen. Art was a life-long farmer who enjoyed working the land.
Survivors include two sons, Harold (Alice) Kruse and Devoine (Linda) Kruse, both of Caledonia; five daughters, Erna (Paul) Krzebietke, Dorothy Kruse and Phyllis (LeRoy) Kohlmeyer, all of Caledonia, Cheryl Skadsem, Olympia, WA, and Joyce (Myron) Rediske, Burr Oak, IA; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; one brother, Theodor (Hilda) Kruse, Eitzen; and one brother-in-law, Paul Tewes, Caledonia.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Carl Kruse; sister and brother-in-law, Lisbeth and Melvin Pohlman; brother-in-law, Martin Tewes; and sister-in-law, Shirley Tewes.
Services will be Saturday, August 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia, with Rev. Tom Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
