Meyer/Johnson wed
Lori Meyer and Bobby Johnson were united in marriage Saturday, July 17, 2004, at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Keith Selberg officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Willard and Shirley Meyer of Dorchester and Wayne Johnson and Linda Johnson of Waukon. Grandparents of the groom are Jack and Hope Griffin and Roger and Norma Johnson.
The altar was decorated with small yellow roses and an assortment of yellow snaps, ivy, and pale orange gerbs.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a white satin A-line gown with a halter neckline. The heavily beaded bodice featured miniature pearls and sequins. The gown had a V insert in front of the skirt, which also had beading and a semi-cathedral train with satin-covered buttons. She wore a two-layer waist-length veil with satin cord edging. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
Maid of honor was Nancy Fahey and bridesmaids were the brideís sister Peggy Burrichter, Sara Mathis, Brigitte Sullivan, Karla Schulte, and Amy Johnson, sister of the groom.
The ladies wore celadon floor-length, two-piece satin gowns, also with halter necklines and beaded embroidery on the bodice.
Best man for the ceremony was Josh Roe. Groomsmen were Jeremy Hogen, Dave Berger, Ross Ellefson, Kyle Schulte, and Tim Ryan.
Ushers were Bryan and Stan Meyer, brothers of the bride, and Jeff Cota and Trent Mitchell.
Flowergirl was Molly Johnson, sister of the groom. Sam Johnson, brother of the groom, was the ringbearer.
A reception was held at 5:30 p.m. at the Waukon Reception and Banquet Center. A dance followed at 8 p.m.
Hosts and hostesses for the event were the groomís uncles and aunts, Joe and Kim Griffin and Brian and Lori McCarthy.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Waukon Senior High and attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar. She is employed at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, Wis.
The groom is a 1991 graduate of Waukon Senior High and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in accounting. He currently works for Darold Berger Masonry in Waukon.
After a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, the couple is residing in Waukon.
