Norman A. Plitzuweit

Norman A. Plitzuweit, 87, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at Franciscan-Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse, WI.

He was born May 11, 1917 in Union township, Houston County, Minnesota, to John and Louise (Burmester) Plitzuweit. Norman served in the United States Army during WWII from January of 1941 until December of 1945. On August 7, 1948 he married Jennell Holte at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa and she preceded him in death on October 15, 1995. ÝNorman was employedÝby Park Machine Inc. of St. Paul, as a sales representative for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Loveless Eikens American Legion Post 191, and the VFW, Houston County Post 3833, all of Caledonia. Norman enjoyed singing and playing the violin and accordian. Norman especially enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Paulette (David) Nord of Caledonia; one son, John (Karen) Plitzuweit of Houston, Minn.; six grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Hazel Plitzuweit, Helen Holte, both of Caledonia, Arlene Peterson of West Allis, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Norman is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Arthur Plitzuweit.

Services will be Friday, December 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. Rev. Tom Schultz will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, 518 W. Main St., Caledonia, on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
