Donald Leon Ganrude

Donald L. Ganrude, 72, died at his home in Lewes, Delaware of a heart attack.

Mr. Ganrude was born in Houston County on August 4, 1932 to Elvin Ganrude and Olga Olson Ganrude. Mr. Ganrude was retired. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 until 1952 and was a decorated Korean War veteran. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Rehoboth Beach VFW. He married Dorothy Coleman on November 1, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 1995, his parents and five brothers; Dale, Owen, Eldon, Warren, Verdayne and grandson Michael Coleman.

He is survived by two brothers Mervin of Caledonia; Bobby of Rockton, Illinois; sister Marilyn of Waterloo, Iowa; his son Robert and daughter Pattie; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on November 12 in Lewes, Delaware with burial in Whiteís Chapel Cemetery, Milton, Delaware.
