Edna Bergsgaard
Edna Julia Corrine Bergsgaard, 85, of Spring Grove, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.
She was born Dec. l3, 1918, in Spring Grove, to Carl and Julia (Tilleraas) Goodno.
She was baptized and confirmed at Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church.
On Aug. 28, 1940 she married Palmer Bergsgaard. The couple operated a dairy farm before moving to Spring Grove 23 years ago. Palmer died Aug. 4, 2001.
Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, and its womens' groups; Sons of Norway, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Buds and Blossoms Garden Club. She enjoyed her time volunteering with children.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Lloyd) Sanness, Elaine (Paul) Nassen, Craig (JoAnn), Bruce (Betty), Robert, and Kristi (Neil) Storlie; one daughter-in-law Maggie Bergsgaard; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Palmer, she was preceded in death by her son David, and her son-in-law Glenn Gilbertson.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring Grove. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Grove. Pastor Stephanie Frey and Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
