Eileen Welscher
Eileen Catherine Welscher, 85, of Caledonia died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at her daughterís home in Rochester, MN.
She was born September 20, 1919 in Caledonia to Peter M. and Katherine L. (Greisch) Privet. She married Luman W. Welscher May 7, 1947 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. He preceded her in death in 1968. Eileen and her husband were farmers, and she was an active leader in 4-H for many years. She enjoyed working at A.B.L.E. Inc., in Caledonia from 1976 until 2002. She also liked gardening, woodworking, cooking, and quilting for the missions and planting trees. She was member of St. Maryís Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her six children; Sister Kathleen Welscher of Rochester, Geraldine Welscher of Rochester, James (Elaine) Welscher of Caledonia, Georgina (Barry) Rink of Byron, MN, Thomas Welscher of Caledonia and William (Teresa) Welscher of Maple Grove, MN. 11 grandchildren; a sister, Rose Marie (Erwin) Deters of Eitzen, MN, two brothers, LaVern Privet and Ronald (Melba) Privet both of Caledonia.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister in law, Nadine Privet.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 11, at 10:30 am at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Friday at Holy Family Hall, behind St Maryís Church, 513 South Pine, Caledonia, where a prayer service will be said at 7:30 pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday morning. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
