Florence Tollefson

Florence M. Tollefson, 98, of Caledonia, died Monday, February 23, 2004, at The Lutheran Home, Caledonia. She was born March 6, 1905, in Caledonia to Paul and Mary (Mechtel) Miller. She married Isaac Tollefson August 26, 1939 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. He preceded her in death February 14, 1978.

Florence worked at the Caledonia Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Maryís Parish and its Council of Catholic Women, St. Elizabeth Society, and the Marian Rosary Guild. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, and quilting.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Neil) Morey, Caledonia; two sons, Odin (Lois) Tollefson, Bismark, ND, and Joseph (Bonnie) Tollefson, Caledonia; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Bowers, Minneapolis, and Carolyn Curran, St. Paul.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a great grandson, Michael Paul Morey, and four sisters, Rosie McCauley, Laura Platz, Annie Peikert, and Vernie Rafferty.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia where a rosary will be said at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
