Caucuses set for March 2 in county

DFL Party

The Minnesota DFL Party will hold caucuses across Minnesota on Tuesday evening, March 2. DFL caucuses are open to all Minnesota residents age 16 and older who are interested in being involved in the DFL party and who are interested in helping select a presidential candidate to defeat George W. Bush.

Residents of Houston County can attend DFL caucuses in the following locations:

Spring Grove High School Cafeteria for residents of Spring Grove city and township, Black Hammer township and Wilmington township.

Caledonia Elementary School Cafeteria for residents of Caledonia city and township, Brownsville city and township, Crooked Creek township, Eitzen, Jefferson township, Winnebago township, Sheldon township and Mayville township.

Hokah City Auditorium for residents of Hokah city and township and Union township.

Houston High School Cafeteria for residents of Houston city and township, Mound Prairie township, Money Creek township and Yucatan township.

La Crescent High School Library for residents of La Crescent city and township.

All caucuses begin at 7 p.m. Delegates will be selected for the Houston County DFL convention. Resolutions for the DFL Party platform will be discussed and voted on. All caucus participants will be able to vote in a presidential preference ballot.

Republican Party

The Republican precinct caucus will be Tuesday, March 2, 7 p.m. Residents of Houston County can attend Republican caucuses in the following locations:

Hokah Fire Station: Hokah City, Hokah Township, Brownsville City, Brownsville Township, Union Township.

La Crescent High School Cafeteria: La Crescent City Precincts 1, 2 and 3; La Crescent Township.

Houston High School: Houston City, Houston Township, Money Creek Township, Yucatan Township, Sheldon Township, Mound Prairie Township.

Caledonia High School: Caledonia City Precincts 1 and 2, Caledonia Township, Eitzen, Mayville Township, Crooked Creek Township Jefferson Township, Winnebago Township.

Spring Grove High School Media Center: Spring Grove City, Spring Grove Township, Black Hammer Township, Wilmington Township.

Green Party

The Green Party of Minnesota Caucus for Legislative District 31B (Houston and Fillmore counties, except City of Houston and Houston and Money Creek townships) will be held on Tuesday, March 2 from 7-9 p.m. at Tenborg Community Center, 113 East Jessie, Rushford.
