Mildred Graf

Mildred A. (Naegle) Graf, 88, of Caledonia, formerly of La Crosse, WI, died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at The Lutheran Home in Caledonia where she had been a resident for three months. She was born February 28, 1915 to Joseph and Mary (Besl) Naegle in La Crosse, WI. She married Joseph Graf on September 16, 1935 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in La Crosse. She and her husband Joe owned and operated Grafís Grocery on the northside of La Crosse for 20 years before moving to Caledonia to be near their two daughters and families.

She is survived by her husband Joe of Caledonia; two daughters: Darlyne (the late Norman) Hoscheit, and Judy (Ole) Haugstad, both of Caledonia; 13 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eileen Naegle, Eau Claire, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son-in law, one great-granddaughter, two brothers, and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, February 2, 10:30 a.m., at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends called Sunday, February 1 from 3-5 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:30 at St. Maryís Catholic Church, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

McCormick Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
