Frances Johnson

Frances Alvina Johnson, 85, of Spring Grove, died Sunday, February 8, 2004, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. She was born June 14, 1918, in Black Hammer, MN to Albert and Annie (Bakken) Bergsrud. She had lived in Excelsior for a short time. She attended rural school. On September 22, 1939 she married Melvin Johnson in Decorah, IA.

She had been employed at Northern Engraving in Spring Grove and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and its womenís groups.

Survivors include her husband Melvin, Spring Grove; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Philander, Edwin, Walter and James; and her sisters, Selma, Alpha and Clara.

Services will be Wednesday, February 11, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Robert Stoskopf will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
