Posted: 1/12/04 Laurayne VickLaurayne Vick, 82, of rural Caledonia, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Valley View Nursing Home, Houston, MN. Laurayne was born February 16, 1921 in Caledonia to John and Appolonia (Welscher) Thillen. She graduated from Loretto High School. She married Clifford Vick February 7, 1945 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Clifford died January 15, 1974 in Caledonia. Laurayne lived her entire life on the rural Caledonia farm that she had shared with Clifford. She worked off the farm in the Spring Grove factory for 17 years. She enjoyed her farm life with her son Bill and also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, and canning fruits and vegetables. She is survived by her children: Janet (Ron) Ehrneiter, Circle Pines, Evelyn (Sidney) Jante, Fort Dodge, IA, Ronald (Linda) Vick, Altoona, IA, Leon (Phyllis) Vick, Caledonia, Darlene Vick, Altoona, Shirley (Randall) Osby, Altoona, William Vick, Caledonia, and John (Chun) Vick, Puyallup, WA; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sisters: Esther Felten, Melba (Ron) Privet, Carol (Joe) Schieber, all of Caledonia, Sister Evelyn Thillen, Rochester, and Fern (Dale) Richards, Brownsville; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Thillen, Caledonia and Kathryn Thillen, Wabasha. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, a son, Duane, and brothers, Vallery and John. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
