Posted: 1/12/04 Maynard PetersonMaynard C. Peterson, 84, of Caledonia, MN died Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Maynard was born June 1, 1919 near Choice, MN to Carl and Mamie (Vitse) Peterson. He attended the South Fork School near Choice. On October 4, 1941 he married Viola G. Jorgenson. He farmed in rural Mabel and near Forestville before moving to Wisconsin Rapids, WI, where he worked for 25 years, starting in 1957, at the Consolidated Paper plant. Viola later died on December 17, 1980. On June 7, 1982 he married Lorraine M. Schroeder. In 1991 they moved to Caledonia where they have resided since. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Crosse and the Concordia Society in La Crosse. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of his yard and flowers, and landscaping. Maynard is survived by his wife Lorraine of Caledonia; two daughters Sharon (John) Koschak of Wisconsin Rapids and Lori (special friend Vern) Koran, Middleton, WI; a son, Carroll (Mary) Peterson, Wisconsin Rapids; step-daughter Jolene Sabo; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lowell (Arlene) Peterson, Rochester; a sister, Violet Jergenson; brothers-in-law, David (Anna) Schroeder and Gordon (Cheri) Schroeder, and Bernice, Edward, and Hollis Jergenson; sister-in-law, Darlene (David) Corcoran; and mother-in-law Helen Schroeder. He was preceded in death by a brother Bernell; a sister Lillian Mondragon; and father-in-law Arnold Schroeder. Services will be 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Crosse with Pastor Mark Rieke officiating and 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 14 at St. Lukeís Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids with Pastor Timothy Wenger officiating. Burial will be in the Rest Lawn Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
