Wilma Sherman

Wilma (Middendorf) Sherman, 83, died December 18, 2003 in Phoenix, AR. She was born August 2, 1920 to Ed and Pearl (Dolan) Middendorf. Three children were born to this family, Wilma, William, and Lois. Wilma attended country school, District 81 and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1938. After graduation she went to Minneapolis for employment and met Clifford Sherman and later married. He died March 17, 1965.

Wilma lived in Mound, MN, about 50 years and worked for Tonka Toys in the cafeteria department where she was known as a great cook. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and Mound Fire Department Auxiliary. She moved to Phoenix in 1975.

She is survived by three children, Sandra Kirsch and Jody Sherman of Phoenix and Clifford (Shelley) Sherman, Mound; husband Wallace McMeekin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lois Ann Meyer, Mary Lou Burrichter, Eitzen, and Janice Adamson, Caledonia.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford, and a brother, William.

A memorial is planned for sometime in May at the Mound V.F.W. with burial at Fort Snelling.
