Posted: 1/22/04 Ona RyanOna N. Ryan, 92, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at Southview Acres Care Center in West St. Paul, MN. She was born August 14, 1911, in Spring Grove, to Oscar and Nellie (Onsgard) Hallan. She was a graduate of Spring Grove High School and attended St. Olaf College in Northfield. She earned a degree in Institutional Management from the University of Minnesota. She married Bertrand (Marty) Ryan, son of P. V. and Anne Ryan of Caledonia. They made their home in St. Paul. He preceded her in death in 1982. Survivors include her children, Pat (Mike) Zobel, Detroit, MI, Nancy Cullen, Brooklyn Park, Tom (Jane), Eagan, Dick (Suzanne), Chicago, IL and John (Nancy Norling), St. Paul; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Burns, Caledonia, Gladys (Orval) Omodt, Aberdeen, SD, and Neva Bunge, Spring Grove; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Bruggeman. Services were held on Saturday, January 17, at 2 p.m. at the Church of St. John Vianney in South St. Paul, with a memorial gathering one hour prior to the Mass.
