Posted: 1/9/04 Lillian KermeenLillian M. Kermeen, 82, of Waukon, IA, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. She was born January 30, 1921, in Waukon, the daughter of Walter and Ella (Krueger) Fetketter. She was baptized and confirmed at French Creek United Methodist Church in rural Lansing and attended French Creek #2 rural school and graduated from Waukon High School in 1939. Lillian also attended a business college in Dubuque. After she was done with school she stayed in Dubuque to work for Hugo Apfeld Insurance as a secretary. On September 19, 1944 she married Donald G. Kermeen at French Creek United Methodist Church. Lillian and Donald moved to California, and then returned back to the French Creek area where they farmed before moving to Waukon in 1999. Lillian moved into the Good Samaritan Center in June of 2002. She was a former member of French Creek United Methodist Church and a past president of its ladies circle. She was also a member of St. Paulís United Methodist Church and its ladies circle. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her family, working on the farm, gardening, golfing, quilting and she loved to cook. Survivors include her husband, Donald of Waukon; a daughter, Pam (Fred) Onsgard and a son, Gary (Ellen) Kermeen, both of Spring Grove; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Delores) Fetketter, Eitzen; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Mildred) Kermeen, Rancho Santa Fe, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held Saturday, January 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paulís United Methodist Church in Waukon with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating.
