Youth hurt in 4-wheeler mishap
An eight-year-old rural Caledonia boy was at St. Maryís Hospital in Rochester Monday, following an accident with a four-wheeler last Wednesday.
Danny Welscher was riding on the vehicle being driven by his brother when it tipped over backwards while on an incline, pinning him. The brother alerted the boysí father, Jim Welscher, who called 9-1-1. The Caledonia Ambulance Service and Houston County Sheriffís office responded.
Danny was taken first to La Crosse, and then airlifted Thursday to St. Maryís Hospital in Rochester. According to the boyís grandmother, Eileen Welscher, the family was hoping Danny could return home early this week but is still having trouble breathing due to his injuries.
