Edith Cox

Edith A. Cox, 73, of Houston, MN, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at St. Maryís Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born on August 10, 1930, in Ontario, WI to Forrest and Gertrude (Bregeman) Cox. Edith grew up in Wilton, WI where she married Harold Cox on October 24, 1949. Edith and Harold moved to Houston following their marriage where Edith lived for the remainder of her life.

She had been a nurses aide at Grandview Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Edith enjoyed flowers, and crafts, especially needle work and she was active in the square dancing group in Houston during the 70s and 80s. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper.

Edith is survived by her husband, Harold; three sons: Stanley (Cheryl) Cox, Austin, Marvin (Chris) Cox and Kelly (Barb) Cox, both of Houston; one daughter, Esther (Tom) Hicks, Arcadia, WI; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Forrest; and seven sisters: Beatrice, Beulah, Vera, Caroline, Lila, June and Inez.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Eugene and Carl.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial was in the Stone Church Cemetery. Friends called from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral Homes ñ Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
