Bertha Heiller

Bertha M. Heiller, 81, of Brownsville, MN, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at The Lutheran Home, Caledonia. She was born August 17, 1922 in Crooked Creek township, MN, to August and Bertha (Loeffler) Neumann Sr. On June 6, 1945, Bertha married George Heiller at Peace United Church of Christ, Crooked Creek. Together they farmed on the family farm until 1994. After George preceded Bertha in death on December 1, 1994, she moved into Brownsville in 1995.

Bertha loved spending time in her garden and mending and sewing for family. She also was an active member of Zion Evangelical Church in Brownsville for many years.

Survivors include one son, Marvin (Shirley) Heiller, Brownsville; one daughter, Joyce (David) Brickman, Brownsville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; one brother August Neumann Jr; and one sister-in-law, Violet.

Services will be Wednesday, June 16, at 2 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Church, Brownsville. Pastor Brian Cuda will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Evangelical Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia is in charge of arrangements.
