Local man dies in motorcycle accident
Ronald Michael Klug, 52, Caledonia, died on June 24 from injuries that he received in a motorcycle accident on June 23.
The accident occurred after he left work at 3 p.m. from his job at Northern Engraving in Spring Grove.
He was driving his 1996 Harley-Davidson east on Highway 44 toward Caledonia when he rear-ended a 1986 Ford pick-up driven by Martin Ranzenberger, 74.
Ranzenberger had stopped to make a left hand turn at about 3:10 p.m. He was also heading east.
It happened near milepost 47 in an area known as Guberud Hill.
Klug was transported by Spring Grove Ambulance to an intercept with Tri-State Ambulance, which took him to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He died the next day of blunt trauma. He was not wearing a helmet.
