Incumbents in; alcohol sales voted down

Incumbents were re-elected in all one of Houston Countyís 17 townships on March 9.

George Mauss will replace Gene Pohlman as clerk of Jefferson Township. Mauss received 11 votes to Pohlmanís five. Garland Moe was re-elected supervisor; 17 votes were cast.

Money Creek Township had two questions on its ballot, both of which were defeated. Question one, ìShall the Money Creek Town Board consent to applications for alcohol sales?î failed by a margin of 100 votes yes to 118 votes no. Question two, ìIf you answered YES to question #1, should the Money Creek Town Board regulate by ordinance alcohol sales?î failed by a margin of 70 votes yes to 120 votes no.

Here are the rest of the township election results. All supervisors are for three year terms; clerks are for two years.

ï Black Hammer Township: incumbent Donald Norgard, supervisor; incumbent Tilford Ike, clerk; 17 votes cast.

ï Brownsville Township: incumbent Delmer Ideker, supervisor; incumbent Doris Mitchell, clerk; 19 votes cast.

ï Caledonia Township: incumbent Norman Oseth, supervisor; Holly Klankowski, incumbent clerk; 16 votes cast.

ï Crooked Creek Township: incumbent John Kohlmeier, supervisor; incumbent Andre Moen, clerk; 21 votes cast.

ï Hokah Township: incumbent Terry Rosendahl, supervisor; incumbent Ruth Horihan, clerk; 19 votes cast.

ï Houston Township: incumbent Eric Johnson, supervisor; incumbent Christine Rischette, clerk; 19 votes cast.

ï Jefferson Township: incumbent Garland Moe; supervisor; incumbent Gene Pohlman was defeated by George Mauss received 11 voites, incumbent Gene Pohmmand received 5. clerk. 17 votes cast.

ï La Crescent Township: incumbent Larry Hafner, supervisor; incumbent Karen Schuldt, clerk; 38 votes cast.

ï Mayville Township: incumbent Ed Giblin, supervisor; incumbent Glenn Meiners, clerk; 20 votes cast.

ï Money Creek Township: incumbent Dale Omodt, supervisor, 183 of 218 voters cast (four candidates received a total of 19 write-in votes); incumbent Lou Kingsley, clerk, 193 votes.

ï Mound Prairie Township: incumbent Richard Botcher, supervisor; incumbent Red Haines; clerk; 23 votes cast.

ï Sheldon Township: incumbent Dean Happel; incumbent Sherry Jergenson, clerk; 16 votes cast.

ï Spring Grove Township: incumbent Richard Gulbranson; supervisor; incumbent Michael Wiste, clerk; eight votes cast.

ï Union Township: incumbent Barton Buhlman, supervisor; incumbent Duane Conniff, clerk; 14 votes cast.

ï Wilmington Township: incumbent Greg Myhre, supervisor; has filed; incumbent Julie Amundson, clerk; 23 votes cast.

ï Winnebago Township: incumbent Gordon Meyer supervisor; incumbent Joyce Staggemeier, clerk; 12 votes cast.

ï Yucatan Township: incumbent Alvin Paulson, supervisor; incumbent Sandy Ask, clerk; 64 votes cast.
