Helen Ellenz
Helen ěLaVonneî Ellenz, 86, of Caledonia, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at St Anneís Hospice, Winona, where she has been a resident for the past 16 years. She was born January 23, 1918 in Caledonia to Michael and Anna (McGinnis) Hoffman. She married Frank Ellenz June 24, 1950 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. Frank preceded her in death on September 28, 1976.
In her early years, LaVonne and Frank farmed in rural Caledonia until they moved to Caledonia in 1960. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Frank (Sharon) Ellenz, Winona; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Gran, Caledonia.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Belva Pope and a brother, Billy Hoffman.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, March 22, at S. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. Monday morning before the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Maryís Church.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
