Man accused of child abuse pleads not guiltyPosted: 3/30/04 By Shannon McKinney JamesToviis Lane, 37, pled not guilty in Houston County District Court Monday, March 22, on charges that he assaulted a 10-year-old boy with malicious punishment. Lane is being represented by James Schultz, a public defender. He has asked for a jury trial which has not yet been set. The felony charges stem from a complaint that on March 10, he punished the boy by hitting him in the stomach with his fist and then hitting him across his buttocks several times with a leather belt.
