A pre-trial hearing for Justin Meyer, the New Albin man accused of killing Mark Sullivan of Caledonia, was scheduled to take place on March 8 in Waukon.

The Argus did not receive information on the hearing in time for this weekís edition.

Meyer is charged in Iowa with kidnapping his former girlfriend and their child in the December 8 tragedy in Caledonia, in which he allegedly shot Sullivan, 24.

The pre-trial hearing at the Allamakee County Courthouse had been scheduled for March 1, but was delayed a week. The trial date for the alleged kidnapping is still set for March 17, although that could change depending on how the March 8 hearing goes, according to Robert Bremmer, spokesperson for the Iowa Attorney Generalís office.

After the Iowa trial, Meyer will be extradited to Minnesota, where he faces one count of homicide and one count of attempted homicide.
