Richard Vix

Richard A. Vix, 60, of Sheldon died Sunday, May 18, 2004, at his home. Richard was born on May 18, 1943, in Caledonia to Orval and Fern (Lee) Vix. He lived in the Sheldon area all of his life. Richard attended Houston High School. On September 25, 1965, he married Lorayne Knutson. He worked at the Houston ñ Money Creek Coop Creamery for a few years and farmed in Sheldon for many years.

Richard enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, softball, bowling, pitching horseshoes as well as many other sports. He always enjoyed time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Lorayne; two sons: Bradley Vix and Jason Vix, both of Sheldon; one daughter, Sheila (Nathan) Holter, Houston; three grandchildren; one sister-in-law Irene Vix, Houston; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter.

Services were at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, at the Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Houston with the Rev. T. Wayne Larson officiating. Burial was in the Stone Church cemetery in Houston. Friends called from 5-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes ñ Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
