Mary E. Deters
Mary E. Deters, 68, of Caledonia, MN, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, WI.
She was born October 26, 1935, in Spring Grove, MN, to George and Corrine (Ganrud) Kallis. Mary graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1953. From 1953 until 1972, she was employed at the factory in Spring Grove. On April 7, 1973, she married Merrill Deters at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Mary and her husband farmed on the Deters home farm until 2001 when they moved to Caledonia. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and attending social gatherings with her friends. Mary especially enjoyed the times she spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Merrill of Caledonia; a daughter, Tonya (Shawn) Johnston, Rochester; two grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be Monday, May 17, at 11 a.m. from St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Lane Zaffke will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
