Pit Stop owner hopes to make a splash in Money CreekPosted: 5/18/04 True to its name, the new Pit Stop restaurant in Money Creek carries through on a racing theme-complete with a race car that hangs from the ceiling above the running board bar, a bar that serves only soft drinks. Owner Jim Belter, who began at the Pit Stop as a cook under former owner Corey Coulson, explained that attempts to get a liquor license had failed, but heís hoping a different approach-and good food-will help bring customers in. Located next to highway 76 in Money Creek, the Pit Stop has been open since February 14. Belter bought the business on May 1. Itís open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, serving sandwiches, steak, fish, seafood and pizza, to name just a few of the items available. Belter also owns an amusement business and will set up some of his equipment, such as a batting cage, moonwalk and slide, for kids to use. He will also offer treats such as cotton candy and shaved ice. There is a large storage area adjacent to the restaurant where Belter will be renting space for the upcoming all-city rummage sale on Memorial Day weekend. His plans are to rent that space for kidsí birthday parties and other events. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
