Posted: 5/6/04 Genevieve JahnGenevieve M. Jahn, 88, of Caledonia, died Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse, WI. She was born May 6, 1916 in Caledoniaa to William and Jenny (Thery) Wagner. She married Edward Jahn on January 26, 1937 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. They farmed north of Caledonia until Edward died in February of 1960. She then moved back to live with her brother, Wilfred Wagner west of Caledonia. She worked at the Caledonia Hotel and at the Control Data factory in Spring Grove until its closing. Genevieve was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Elizabethís Society, St. Maryís Parish and its Council of Catholic Women and also the Marion Rosary Makers. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards. Survivors include a brother Bertrum (Caroline) Wagner, La Crescent; two sisters, Helen Schwartzhoff, La Crescent, and Rachel Keller, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and four brothers and two sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be a 10 a.m., Saturday, May 8, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call Friday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, where a rosary will be said at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. ©The Argus E-Mail: editor.argus@ecm-inc.com |
