Ernest J. ëErnieí Miller
Ernest J. ìErnieî Miller, 85, of La Crescent, died on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the family farm.
He was born on April 4, 1919 in La Crescent Township to William and Sophie (Truempi) Miller. He married Mary A, Tschumper on June 24, 1947 in Hokah, Minnesota. They celebrated 57 years of marriage this past June. Ernie farmed his entire life in the La Crescent area.
Ernie is survived by his wife Mary; two daughters, Rosemary (Dennis) Doering of Brownsville and Rita (Dale) Anderson of La Crosse; four sons, Robert of La Crescent, Gerald ìJerryî (Mary) of La Crescent, Richard of La Crosse and Kenneth of La Crescent; four grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Groen of Iowa and Angeline (Jim) Hofer of La Crescent; one brother, George (Evelyn) Miller of La Crosse; two sisters-in-law, Betty Miller of Houston and Mary Joan Miller of Oregon; also many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William Miller Jr. and Harvey Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at St. Peterís Catholic Church in Hokah. The Rev. Paul J. Breza will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Hokah. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., where a rosary will be recited at 7:30, and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until departing for the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
